How Does it Work
Chipping In for Parkinson’s is a 9-hole, best ball tournament designed to be fun, inclusive, and family-friendly—perfect for golfers of all experience levels.
Teams of four register and compete not only on the course, but also off it—by raising funds in support of Manitobans living with Parkinson’s disease. The more pledges your team collects, the bigger the impact you make!
Thanks to the generous support of our sponsors, tournament costs—including dinner and prizes—are fully covered, so 100% of the donations raised go directly toward Parkinson’s-related initiatives in Manitoba.
It’s golf for a good cause—with every swing helping raise awareness, build community, and support those living with Parkinson’s.

About Jim Peters & Chipping In For Parkinsons
- A Tournament With a Purpose
Chipping In for Parkinson’s began as a dream shared by a father and daughter — Jim Peters and his daughter Rebecca — who turned a personal challenge into a powerful community movement.
When Jim was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2009, his world was turned upside down. The future he had imagined suddenly felt uncertain. “I thought I might be able to work for five more years,” Jim recalls. “I thought I’d have to give up golf… that I wouldn’t be around to watch my grandkids grow.” The diagnosis felt isolating and overwhelming — until the spark of an idea began to take shape.
Just a few years later, when Rebecca’s father-in-law was also diagnosed with young onset Parkinson’s, she saw both of her “Dads” struggling to navigate the same difficult journey. “They both felt really alone and unsupported,” she says. That’s when Rebecca decided to act. Together, she and Jim dreamed up a way to bring people together, raise awareness, and build a supportive community — through something they both loved: golf.
